Betting Tips (IV) Centrobasket 2012: Mexico - Virgin Islands

2012 Centrobasket for Men, has started today in Puerto Rico. This tournament will last from Monday to Sunday and host 10 teams. Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic, as usual, are the main candidates to win the tournament as they are working hard for the Olympic Qualifiers, that will be played in Caracas, in the beginning of July.

This evening we have to focus on Mexican National Team. There are lot of hopes in the uprising of mexican basketball after last year´s Panamerican Games held in Guadalajara. Together with that NT success, this season  Pioneros of Quintana Roo (with the spanish Pep Clarós as a Head Coach) have won FIBA América´s club championships. So this is a big chance for Mexican Basketball to become more popular in the country.

Clarós was appointed Mexican Head Coach, a couple of months ago, this is his first Big Championship with the NT, and named the following roster:

PGs & SGs: Pedro Meza, Paul Stoll, Omar Quintero, Orlando Méndez, Víctor Mariscal, Gabriel Girón, Carlos Toussaint.

SFs & PFs: Héctor Hernández, Jesús López, Gustavo Ayón.

Cs: Horacio Llamas, Adrián Zamora.

NBA PF, Gustavo Ayón will be the true Leader of the team. Together with expert players such as Víctor Mariscal, Horacio Llamas and Omar Quintero they will try to qualify for the semifinals despite the absence of the injured Chris Hernández.

The mexicans will play tonight against US Virgin Islands. Quite a physical team led by PF Cuthbert Victor (talented and experienced ACB & BekoPBL player). If mexican long-range shooters are inspired and Ayón is unstoppable in the paint, Clarós´ roster should win this game comfortably.

Mexico - Virgin Islands. México -6.5 (1.86) Spread. Bet365 Stake 3
(Value Bet till -7 spread)

Mexico 75-67 Virgin Islands +2.58 units

Horrible offensive performance of Mexican NT missing 19 FTs (23/42 55%) and getting in late troubles after taking control of the game since the beginning. After leading by 15 points, the mexican players started turning the ball and missing lots of easy shots and really struggled at the end with late Virgin Islands´ triples.
